In this ChoiceScript game, we're taking a lifeform from its humble beginnings as a microbe in the primordial ooze up to a position in the theatre of inter-galactic politics. Each chapter represents a different stage in its evolution, with choices dictating its development as a species and as a culture.
The text bits are all very short and perky. I liked the affectionate humour. This is clearly meant to be a lighthearted romp, and I'm not sure if there is a way to "lose".
We're not delving too deeply into everything that could fit into a span of a few million years: this is mainly a general overview of key ages. As such, there's not really much of a story except perhaps for what happens in each chapter. We're just building up a "character" by our choices, and "winning" is really a matter of how satisfied we are with our performance.
So it's a nice little diversion. My one complaint is that the stats screen is perhaps a little too brief. I get the sense that more stats are being tracked than are shown there, and it would have been nice to have a more complete and comprehensive description of our Little Lifeform there.
That's about it, really. Now, breakfast. Lucky Charms and milk, perhaps? It's a simple deal, and there's a charming childishness about it.
